This is not an April Fool's joke: Chase and Lyft have now renewed their partnership through March 2025, which allows cardholders to continue to earn bonus points when using this popular ridesharing service.

For context, Chase maintains many partnerships with everyday brands like DoorDash, Instacart and Peloton — providing exclusive perks for cardholders. First introduced at the onset of the pandemic, these benefits have helped many justify keeping these cards open during a period of suppressed travel.

However, many of these partnerships come with an end date ... unless Chase decides to renew the contract. A few months ago, Chase and DoorDash renewed their contract, and now, it's great to see the issuer step up to the plate with this latest extension.

Lyft benefits by Chase card

The earning rates vary depending on the Chase card you carry, so let's take a look at the potential returns you may receive. These earning rates will apply now through March 2025.

Chase Sapphire Reserve

Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders will continue to receive 10 points per dollar on Lyft purchases. Since TPG values Chase Ultimate Rewards points at 2 cents apiece, that's like getting a whopping 20% return on Lyft rides — a great deal if you frequently use the service to jaunts around the city or need airport transportation.

(And don't forget to link your Delta SkyMiles number with your Lyft account here to earn 1 mile per dollar on Lyft rides).

Sapphire Reserve cardholders also now receive a complimentary Lyft Pink All Access membership for two years, worth $199 per year.

All other Chase cards

If you carry one of the following cards, you'll continue earning 5 points per dollar rate on Lyft rides (or a 10% return based on TPG's valuations):

  • Chase Sapphire Preferred Card.
  • Chase Freedom Card (no longer available to new applicants).
  • Chase Freedom Unlimited Card.
  • Chase Freedom Flex.
  • Chase Freedom Student credit card.
  • All Ink business card members — such as the Ink Business Preferred Credit Card, Ink Business Cash Credit Card and the Ink Business Unlimited Credit Card).

The information for the Chase Freedom Student has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

Bottom line

The continued ability to earn up to 10 points per dollar on Lyft rides (until March 2025) is fantastic news.

We'll also keep you in the loop on Chase's other partnerships as they get closer to their expiration date to see if the issuer decides to keep, adjust or axe the partnerships altogether.
