Matt Moffitt

Contributing editor
TPG since 2022
Matt Moffitt, TPG contributing editor for credit cards, is passionate about sharing his knowledge of how to earn the maximum number of points through credit cards and use those points for high-value redemptions. He has at least 25 cards in his wallet at any given time and has nine years of experience in the points, miles and credit cards industries.

He led TPG's credit cards vertical from 2022 through early 2025, most recently as the team's managing editor, before transitioning into a contributing role and going nomad.

Originally from Sydney, Australia, Matt won the green card lottery and lived in Austin, Texas for 10 years. Before joining TPG, he worked as the managing editor of Australian frequent flyer website Point Hacks and a content curator for Pinterest. He has spoken at travel and credit card conferences, appeared on travel podcasts and been quoted in national and international media outlets.

He is proficient in Spanish, has lived in Mexico and Spain, and is continuing his quest to try all of the world's top first-class products. His favorites so far include Emirates, Etihad and Singapore Airlines, all on the Airbus A380.
Maximize your points by taking advantage of transfer bonuses. If you earn flexible points with a bank like Chase, Capital One or American Express, you can often get 10%-50% extra points transferring during these promotions. These usually run for a month and can significantly reduce the cost of flight and hotel redemptions.
